PureView Health Center is excited to introduce the Mobile Clinic, brought to you with the help of Lewis and Clark Public Health and the Care Foundation of Montana.
PureView’s goal as a Federally Qualified Health Center is to provide quality, patient-centered, accessible healthcare to every individual, regardless of circumstances. The Mobile Clinic facilitates greater access to our services by bringing them directly to the community (for free) through its various stops around the Helena area.
Inside this clinic on wheels, we provide a safe space and a variety of health services, all free of charge. The Mobile Clinic offers rapid testing for syphilis, HIV, and Hepatitis C. We also hand out items like Narcan kits to tackle opioid overdoses, gun locks, drug deactivation kits, fentanyl test strips, condoms, and hygiene kits.
We interviewed Ace, the case manager facilitating the program, to get a clear picture of how our Mobile Clinic operates and why it matters.
Why is the Mobile Clinic important?
The Mobile Clinic is important because it provides access to basic healthcare and prevention services while meeting our patients where they are in their lives and in the community.
What are the main advantages of the Mobile Clinic over a traditional brick-and-mortar healthcare facility?
Nothing can fully replace a brick-and-mortar healthcare facility, as some complex and specialized services that can only be done in an exam room. However, by providing basic services and preventative resources in a mobile setting, we can touch base with members of our community who may not have the resources or the time to get into a healthcare facility. This way, we can meet people where they are instead of expecting them to come to us.
What impact do you think this clinic will have?
The hope is to build a healthier, informed and more resilient community by giving patients the resources and services needed to stay on top of care that everyone deserves.
What does it do for the community?
The Mobile Clinic empowers patients to stay on top of their health and strengthens the relationships we have with communities by providing additional resources and support that they may not have otherwise gotten.
The launch of PureView Health Center’s Mobile Clinic marks a significant step forward in making healthcare more accessible to the Helena community.
