  • Cyndi-Alarcon

    Cynthia Alarcon, Physician Assistant

    Cynthia Alarcon was hired by PureView Health Center in the summer of 2014. She comes to PureView from Holy Rosary Healthcare in Miles City, Montana. Cynthia graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. She studied at Flathead Valley Community College for her LPN and then Rocky Mountain College for her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies. She has previously worked as a field biologist, naturalist, whitewater guide, ski patroller and EMT, which piqued her interest in studying medicine. Her professional interests include rural medicine and improving access to healthcare in underserved populations. She became a PA to directly improve the access to quality care in Montana’s small communities and she enjoys community health for that reason.

  • Jordan resized

    Jordan Brown, Child and Adolescent Therapist, SWLC

    Jordan Brown graduated with a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2018 and has worked in the mental health field since 2013. He grew up in Rochester, NY, but has spent 10 of the last 13 years in Montana.

    Jordan’s passion is making mental health accessible and meaningful, and he realized his calling after supporting a loved one with a mental health crisis led him to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). He then changed careers to work with middle schoolers and their families at Helena Middle School in 2013. Since then, Jordan has worked in an inpatient mental health unit, as a therapist and care coordinator at a pediatric practice, and most recently as a school-based therapist at East Valley Middle School in East Helena. 

    Jordan considers working alongside youth and families--and learning from his own mental health struggles and open-heart surgery to be his greatest lessons of all. He has experience working with trauma, attachment issues, anxiety, ADHD, autism, bipolar, depression, and mindfulness strategies. 

    He managed the popular mental health blog and email newsletter, The Mental Health Update, for years. He also published a mental health poetry book, In Search of Happiness. When he’s not reading and writing, you can find him hiking with his wife around Montana or wishing that he could hike with his three tuxedo cats, Lola, Chip, and Finn.

    Ashley Champagne Post, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

    Ashley is a licensed clinical social worker. She has been working in the human services and behavioral health field since 2010.  She relocated to Helena from Washington state in 2010 after obtaining her bachelor's degree in social work from the University of Washington- Tacoma and received her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work in 2011 from Walla Walla University – Missoula.

    She holds a certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) working with parents from pre-conception through one year of birth. She provides mental health support for those who are in the process of conceiving, are currently pregnant, or are new parents adjusting to their new family member. She also has generalist experience with ADD/ADHD, Depression Disorders, Trauma and Anxiety Disorders, Bipolar Disorders, Adjustment Disorders, and Crisis Intervention and has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

    "I enjoy meeting patients where they are at and as a team working through day-to-day stressors and symptoms to help provide relief and experience success. I work through a solution-focused and cognitive behavioral therapy lenses for modalities of practice."

    Alexa Christian, Pharmacist, PharmD

    Alexa Christian, PharmD joined PureView Health Center in January 2023. She attended pharmacy school at the University of Montana. After graduating, she returned to her hometown of Havre, and worked as a pharmacist at an independent retail pharmacy for 10 years. She brings with her to Helena her husband, four kids, and yellow lab, Nellie. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities, reading, exercising, and being active. You will most often find her cheering on her kids at the hockey rink, baseball field, dirt bike track, and dance recitals. Her favorite title is Mom. Alexa prides herself on building personal relationships and providing a friendly and relatable environment for patients to feel comfortable asking questions about medications and receive a full understanding of their treatment. Alexa and family are looking forward to enjoying all that the Helena area has to offer.

    Courtnay Crowell, MD

    Dr. Courtnay Crowell rejoined PureView in February 2022. She originally worked at the Parker Clinic in Lincoln 2007-2014. She grew up in Houston, Texas and received her BA in philosophy and French from Austin College. She attended medical school at University of Texas Medical Branch and completed residency at Montana Family Medicine Residency program in Billings, MT in 2005. She has worked in New Zealand, Canada, Ft Harrison MT, Helena MT and Lincoln Montana during her career, maintaining board certification in Family Medicine, while also practicing emergency medicine and correctional medicine.

    Dr. Crowell loves working at PureView where all patients get respectful, quality healthcare regardless of insurance, age, or lifestyle. Her mission in medicine is to ‘meet people where they are’ in their medical and mental health journeys and work together to achieve their best health.

    Off work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, teenagers and dogs. She enjoys camping, biking, hiking and cross-country skiing while outside and reading, cooking (and eating) and board games inside.

  • James DeFoe

    James DeFoe, PharmD Clinical Pharmacist

    James DeFoe, PharmD, joined PureView Health Center as a Clinical Pharmacist in April 2019. James came to Helena from Wheat Ridge, Colorado, where he was the Clinical Pharmacist, Team Leader and Residency Program Director at Lutheran Medical Center. James received a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and Biology and a Master’s Degree in Biochemistry from Northern Michigan University. His Doctor of Pharmacy Degree was earned at Albany College of Pharmacy. He comes to PureView with thirteen years of experience as a Clinical Pharmacist. James is married with two young children, and he and his family love to be outdoors and explore wild places. He enjoys Nordic and backcountry skiing, trail running and hiking. James is excited to be a part of the PureView team and looks forward to helping our patients and community.

    Zachary Drake, DMD, Dentist

    Dr. Drake is a general dentist who joined PureView Health Center in June 2022. He grew up in Boise, ID and after graduating from Boise State University with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish, he attended Temple University School of Dentistry where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. He started practicing dentistry as a sailor in the United States Navy with stops at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, Naval Station Norfolk aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), and Naval Health Center Quantico.

    After an honorable discharge from the USN, he worked for a year at a private dental practice in Twin Falls, ID before moving on to a large federally qualified health center (Terry Reilly Health Services) in southwest Idaho for over five years. Dr. Drake’s wife grew up in Whitehall where her parents still live. He and his family are excited to live so close to their Montana family and to be part of the PureView team.

  • Dawn Gormely

    Dawn Gormely, Nurse Practitioner

    Dawn Gormely joined PureView Health Center in May of 1997. Her undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Nursing, is from Carroll College, in Helena. She worked at St. Peter’s Hospital, primarily in Pediatrics, for a number of years prior to returning to academia to become a Nurse Practitioner. She completed a Master’s Degree in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner focus through Montana State University in Bozeman as a member of the program’s first graduating class. Dawn has found family practice to be an amazing environment to work in. Seeing several generations of families grow has been extremely rewarding. In her spare time, Dawn loves quilting, antiquing, reading, home projects, Montana outdoors and traveling with family and friends.

    Liz Grant, Physician

    Born and raised in Helena, Dr. Liz Grant graduated with honors from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Before entering medical school, she enrolled in an Americorps program and served as a case manager for people living with HIV/AIDS in Chicago.

    She completed medical school and residency at OHSU in Portland, Oregon.  For the next five years, she was on faculty at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, where she practiced full-spectrum family medicine, including delivering babies, and taught medical students and residents.  

    Moving home to Helena, Dr. Grant then worked in urgent care for 5 years, expanding her skill set.  She chose to join PureView in 2024 because of the priority placed on community health, prevention, outreach, and education, which align with her values. She believes in access to excellent healthcare for all, and in a team approach to medicine.  She strives to build meaningful connections and to empower her patients to take charge of their wellbeing.  

    Outside work, you can find her hiking, biking, skiing, reading, or on an outdoor adventure with her family and friends.

  • Erin Guzynski

    Erin Guzynski, RPh, Pharmacist

    Erin Guzynski joined PureView Health Center in September of 2019. Erin grew up along Montana’s High-Line in the Sweetgrass Hills. In 2002, she graduated from the University of Montana School of Pharmacy. Shortly after graduating Erin obtained the position of Pharmacy Manager at Walmart Pharmacy in Kalispell, Montana. In 2009, she became a pharmacist with Bergum Drug, in Helena. Erin enjoys working closely with patients in a patient-centered pharmacy. She spends her free time exercising and recreating with her family in Montana’s mountains.

    John Harris, Physician Assistant

    John completed his undergraduate degree at Idaho State University and PA school at the University of Washington as an AHEC scholar. He is a multi-generational Montanan who enjoys family medicine and caring for the underserved. After working several years in EMS, he wandered into corporate sales. His favorite mode of transportation involves rowing and, at times, running. He enjoys spending time with his wife, dog, family and friends.

  • Grace Hodges New Headshot

    Grace Hodges, LCPC

    Grace (she, her) joined PureView in February of 2023. She worked in private practice in Helena for over twenty-five years, following five years as Clinical Coordinator at Helena Community Support Services and two years as an outpatient therapist at the Billings Mental Health Center. Grace grew up in New York City, got her BA from Yale University in 1982, and received her MS in Clinical Counseling and Family Psychology from California State University, East Bay in 1989. She has focused on trauma therapy and is trained in EMDR, IFS (Internal Family Systems), energy psychology, and other mind/body therapies. She has experience helping people dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD, domestic violence, bipolar disorder, ADHD, OCD, grief, and overall life stressors. She recharges by hiking, biking, backpacking, tending a huge vegetable garden, making art, and tromping around on the trails around Helena with her family dog, Kira.

    Demitrius LaTocha, DMD, Dentist

    Demitrius LaTocha was born and raised in Alaska.  After completing high school in Alaska, he moved on and completed his undergraduate studies at St. Mary’s University of Winona, Minnesota, and then completed dental school at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.  

    Prior to PureView, Dr. LaTocha completed 22 years of service as a Commissioned Officer with the United States Public Health Service working specifically with the Indian Health Service.  He retired from the USPHS on September 1, 2023.

    Demitrius and his family recently moved here with his wife and two boys.  Even though they are not from the area, they do have family in the state.  In the past, they would travel to the area every summer to visit family and friends.  

    Demitrius is excited to start a new chapter in his career with the PureView team.

    Jeni Leary, Behavioral Health Director

    Jeni Leary is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, practicing in Montana for more than 25 years. She obtained her Bachelor’s in Social Work degree in at Carroll College and her Master’s in Social Work degree at the University of Washington. Jeni started her career in Social Work as a child protection worker investigating child abuse and neglect. She later provided mental health treatment to youth in a variety of settings to include an acute psychiatric hospital, therapeutic group home, day treatment program and school-based mental health program. Jeni was also a Training Officer and Program Officer for the state of Montana’s Child & Family Services Division for several years.

    Jeni opened her private practice in 2002 where she provided psychotherapy services to people of all ages. During this time, she specialized in providing comprehensive therapeutic services to children with severe emotional trauma and attachment problems as a contractor for a therapeutic adoptive treatment program.

    In 2010, Jeni’s career path led her to take a position in a hospice program providing therapeutic services to people at end of life and their families. In this role, Jeni discovered a new passion for walking alongside people as they navigated the death and dying process and transitioned out of this life. She reflects on this time as one of immense growth on a personal and professional level and has stated it was one of the most humbling and valuable experiences of her career.

    In 2015, Jeni sought to expand her skill set as a leader and joined the Veterans Administration as a supervisor for a program assisting Veterans experiencing homelessness and a therapeutic work program. Jeni moved into the Director of Behavioral Health Outreach Programs position in 2017, managing multiple programs assisting Veterans experiencing homelessness across the state and two work therapy programs. In this position she also oversaw the implementation of a web-based telehealth to home skills training program and developed a community-based intensive case management program serving Veterans with serious mental illness diagnoses.

    Jeni is a Montana Army National Guard Veteran and served 4 years enlisted and 4 years as a commissioned officer in the Ordnance Corps. While Jeni did not serve on active duty or during combat, she has a deep respect for those who have served our country and is passionate about caring for and supporting our nation’s Veterans.

    Jeni is skilled in providing trauma informed, person-centered care and utilizes a variety of therapeutic techniques to guide clients on their journey to improve their mental health and wellness. She rejuvenates by spending time with her family, grandchildren, two Old English Sheepdogs, one Mini-Australian Shepherd and three cats, listening to audiobooks and traveling. She has a deep appreciation of her ancestry as a fourth generation Montanan and enjoys learning about Montana’s early history.

    Michelle Marten, PharmD, RPh, Pharmacy Director

    Michelle Marten, PharmD, joined PureView Health Center in 2018 and was the first staff member when our pharmacy opened.  Before PureView, she worked at Bergum Drug and Geneva Woods Pharmacy, which were both independent pharmacies in Helena.  

    She has experience with open-door retail pharmacy, special medication packaging and compounding.  Michelle graduated from the University of Montana in 2012 with a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree.  She brings her community outreach, customer service, and great attitude to PureView patients and staff.  Michelle grew up in Great Falls, MT.  

    She and her husband enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, road trips on their Harley Davidson motorcycles, and watching their son compete in freestyle skiing events across the country.  Michelle also owns a small business in the hunting industry, so she is more than busy, yet she manages to prioritize patient care and her career with PureView.  

    Michelle is excited and honored to be a part of the PureView team and greatly appreciates our clinic's wholesome and collaborative approach to all patients.

  • McKeon

    Kacie McKeon, DMD, Dentist

    Dr. Kacie McKeon was born and raised in Montana. Following graduation from Butte Central Catholic High School, Dr. McKeon’s collegiate basketball career led her to Montana State University-Northern and, eventually, to Carroll College. While at Carroll College, she balanced academics and athletics and worked as a dental assistant. Dr. McKeon graduated from Carroll College in 2017 with honors and a degree in biology.  

    Dr. McKeon moved to Portland, Oregon in 2019 to continue her education at Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry. While at OHSU, Dr. McKeon developed an interest in community health dentistry and was awarded scholarship recognition from the National Health Service Corps, an organization dedicated to building community health in areas with limited access to healthcare. Dr. McKeon received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from OHSU in 2023.  

    Dr. McKeon is excited to be back in Montana as a member of the PureView Health Center team to provide comprehensive care to the community of Helena and surrounding areas. In her practice, Dr. McKeon embraces a comprehensive approach to dental care with a concentration on comfort, prevention, and patient education.  

    In her free time, Dr. McKeon enjoys spending time outdoors running, hiking, and skiing with friends and family.

    Heather McRee, D.O.

    Heather McRee, D.O., joined PureView Health Center in 2004 after completing her residency at the Montana Family Medicine Residency in Billings, MT, where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. McRee grew up in Maine and, after completing high school, spent a year in a small village in Zimbabwe, working in an orphanage and hospital. It was in this formative year that she solidified her desire to pursue a career in healthcare. She graduated with honors from the University of Montana and returned to Maine for medical school at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. She loves being a family physician because it allows her to problem-solve with her patients. She believes in quality healthcare for everyone and prefers prevention over pills. In her free time, she enjoys trail running, mountain biking, camping, skiing and being with her children and her husband.

    Annie Meyers, Social Work Licensure Candidate

    Annie is a Social Work Licensure Candidate who began working in the children’s mental health field in 2017. She received a Bachelor’s in Social Work from the University of Montana in 2018 and a Master’s in Social Work from Carroll College in 2023. Annie’s clinical focus is primarily with children as young as 6 through adolescents. She has experience in treating PTSD, depression, and anxiety. Annie’s passion is working with the family unit to inspire positive change in all aspects of a child’s life. Helena is Annie’s hometown, where she can be found paddling around Canyon Ferry Lake, reading a good book, or playing with her three fur babies: Dexter, Wasabi, and Ollie.

    Holly Mook, SWLC, LAC

    Hi, my name is Holly Mook (she/her). I am a behavioral health therapist, Licensed Addiction Counselor, and Clinical Social Work Licensure Candidate. I specialize in helping adolescents, adults, and families using trauma-informed evidence-based practices who struggle with behavioral health disorders. These include but are not limited to Substance Use Disorders, Gambling Disorders, PTSD, Adjustment, Attachment, Grief/loss, Anxiety, and Depression. I am passionate about suicide prevention and have been involved with the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention for years.

    I love my job as I get to help people who have difficult challenges discover what happened to them and take the necessary steps to make their lives and relationships better, more productive, and possibly easier. I am passionate about helping others learn they are not alone, recovery is possible, and help is available. Overall, I want to provide hope to adolescents, adults, and families. On a personal level, I love spending time with my very large extended family. I love to ski, hike, and garden.

    Margaret Phillips, Family Nurse Practitioner

    Maggie Phillips joined PureView Health Center in August 2018. She graduated from Montana State University with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. Maggie is originally from a small town in northern Wisconsin and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. Since that time, she has accumulated more than six years of nursing experience in various areas of patient care. Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, she worked at St. Peter’s Hospital. She enjoys working with patients and families to promote healing and wellness and is passionate about providing quality healthcare services to the community.

    In her free time, Maggie enjoys spending time with family and friends and everything outdoors under the Montana sky, especially backpacking, hiking, and cross-country skiing.

  • Justin Smith

    Justin Smith, MD

    Justin Smith, M.D. is a fourth-generation Montanan with roots in the Bitterroot Valley and the Shelby Hi-Line.  After graduation from the University of Montana, he attended medical school at the University of Arizona and then completed his residency in Billings at the Montana Family Medicine Residency in 2004. Dr. Smith worked for seven years at the Parker Medical Clinic in Lincoln and has also taken international assignments in New Zealand and Canada. He and his family are excited to be back in Montana where they enjoy biking, hunting, and Nordic skiing.

    William Snider, DO

    Dr. Snider is a graduate of the Montana Family Medicine Residency where he served as Chief Resident. He has lived in Helena since 2001 and is a previous Medical Director for the Cooperative Health Center. He returned to PureView after spending 2 years exploring Private Practice. In addition to Public Health, Dr. Snider enjoys competitive mountain biking and Nordic skiing. He is also a fly fisherman and lover of wild places and public lands.

    Dr. Snider is originally from Indiana. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Montana and a medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. Prior to attending medical school, he worked in environmental advocacy and as a wilderness fly fishing guide in Alaska. He has a young daughter and enjoys teaching her about life and the outdoors.

  • Julian Thorne

    Julian Thorne, Psychiatrist

    Julian Thorne, MD joined PureView Health Center in 2022 after completing his residency in Psychiatry at the University of Utah where he served as Chief Resident.  Dr. Thorne grew up in Florence, MT and subsequently pursued a degree in Cell Biology and Neuroscience, graduating in 2014 Summa Cum Laude with an Honors distinction.  He then attended medical school at the University of Washington School of Medicine graduating with his MD in 2018.  Dr. Thorne loves spending time with his wife and puppy dogs as well as enjoying the multitude of outdoor activities Montana has to offer.  He loves the personal connection he can have working in mental health and has a passion for treating underserved and rural patients.  He specializes in treatment of mood, anxiety, trauma, and thought disorders as well as humanistic and group therapies.

    Molly Tschetter, Clinical Nurse Practitioner

    Molly Tschetter joined PureView’s team at the end of 2021. She is originally from Pierre, South Dakota. She graduated with her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from South Dakota State University. Her nursing background includes emergency and critical care medicine. She loves family practice, as it gives her the opportunity to see patients at all stages of life. Molly enjoys helping people improve both their physical and mental health. She is looking forward to meeting new patients and serving the Helena community. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, fishing, and camping.

    Madeline Turner, MD, Medical Director

    Dr. Turner joined the PureView team in September 2018. She is a Montana native and received her undergraduate degree from Montana State University. She attended medical school at the University of Washington as part of the WWAMI program followed by completion of residency at the Swedish Cherry Hill Family Medicine Program in Seattle where she served as Inpatient Chief Resident. After residency, Dr. Turner became faculty at Swedish Residency and worked at Seattle Indian Health Board. Madeline’s interests include Hepatitis C treatment, addiction medicine, and comprehensive women’s health. She is passionate about teaching and has taught medical and nurse practitioner students in the past and hopes to continue this in the future. She strongly believes in healthcare access for all and hopes to empower patients to understand and manage their own health. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time in the outdoors with her husband, baking, and lately, home improvement projects.

  • Lanna Zobel

    Lanna Zobel, FNP-C, Family Nurse Practitioner (Parker Medical Center)

    Lanna Zobel, FNP-C, joined the staff at Parker Medical Center in October 2019. Lanna received an Associate Nursing Degree followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Cardinal Stritch University in Wisconsin. She worked in a large academic medical facility in the ER and Trauma for over 20 years.  Lanna returned to school and obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a focus on Family Practice. She is enjoying getting to know her patients and working with them to achieve their goals. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, backpacking, fly fishing, and spending time with her family.
