Jordan Brown

Child & Adolescent Therapist, SWLC

Jordan Brown graduated with a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2018 and has worked in the mental health field since 2013. He grew up in Rochester, NY, but has spent 10 of the last 13 years in Montana.

Jordan’s passion is making mental health accessible and meaningful, and he realized his calling after supporting a loved one with a mental health crisis led him to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). He then changed careers to work with middle schoolers and their families at Helena Middle School in 2013. Since then, Jordan has worked in an inpatient mental health unit, as a therapist and care coordinator at a pediatric practice, and most recently as a school-based therapist at East Valley Middle School in East Helena.

Jordan considers working alongside youth and families--and learning from his own mental health struggles and open-heart surgery to be his greatest lessons of all. He has experience working with trauma, attachment issues, anxiety, ADHD, autism, bipolar, depression, and mindfulness strategies.

He managed the popular mental health blog and email newsletter, The Mental Health Update, for years. He also published a mental health poetry book, In Search of Happiness. When he’s not reading and writing, you can find him hiking with his wife around Montana or wishing that he could hike with his three tuxedo cats, Lola, Chip, and Finn.
