PureView COVID Testing Center

PureView COVID Testing Center is open to the public and offers free COVID-19 testing for symptomatic or contact exposure patients. Depending on your symptoms, you may be encouraged to visit a primary care provider. If you choose to schedule an appointment with a PureView provider there will be a cost associated with your primary care visit, but your COVID-19 test will still be free of charge. A sliding fee scale is available for patients who qualify. No one will be denied care due to inability to pay.

When

You do not need an appointment to receive free, drive-through testing. The testing site operates Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM at the Entry Hall of the Lewis & Clark County Fairgrounds.

Beginning March 15th, testing will be available by appointment only. the testing site will be moved to the covid testing center located behind our primary clinic location (1930 9th Ave, Helena, MT 59601). To schedule an appointment or for more information, call us at 406.500.2088.

which tests are available?

PCR (diagnostic): This is the most reliable test and uses a nasopharyngeal swab. Results are sent to the State Lab and received back based on priority testing. The typical wait time can be 2-4 days but depends on the number of tests awaiting results. This test is available at our testing center and in our clinic visits with providers.

Antigen: This is a ‘rapid’ test that is currently only used to identify patients who have symptoms. This test is less accurate so patients may need a more definitive test in addition. This test is only used in our clinic setting while seeing a provider.

We do not currently offer antibody testing.
