Our Providers

  • Cynthia Alarcon, Physician Assistant

    Cynthia Alarcon was hired by PureView Health Center in the summer of 2014. She comes to PureView from Holy Rosary Healthcare in Miles City, Montana. Cynthia graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. She studied at Flathead Valley Community College for her LPN and then Rocky Mountain College for her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies. She has previously worked as a field biologist, naturalist, whitewater guide, ski patroller and EMT, which piqued her interest in studying medicine. She works at the main clinic as well as at the Healthcare for the Homeless program at God’s Love Homeless Shelter in downtown Helena. Her professional interests include rural medicine and improving access to healthcare in underserved populations. She became a PA to directly improve the access to quality care in Montana’s small communities and she enjoys community health for that reason.

  • Lisa Benevides, Clinical Social Worker

    Lisa Benevides, LCSWC, joined PureView Health Center in May 2019. She is employed by Intermountain Community-Based Services but works within the Behavioral Health Team at our PureView East Helena Health Clinic. Lisa graduated from Carroll College in 2002 with a double major in Elementary Education and Social Work. She earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Great Falls in School Psychology. After working for over fifteen years in the human services field, Lisa decided to get her Master’s Degree in Social Work and graduated from Walla Walla University in 2015. She has spent her career working with all walks of life including indigent families, children at risk (adoption and foster care), mentally ill, and most recently juveniles and adults within the correctional system. Lisa grew up in the Helena area, which allows her to work collaboratively with many resources in the surrounding area. Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, enjoying Montana’s outdoors, and shopping.

  • Villette Burk, Behavioral Health Case Manager

    Villette Burk joined PureView Health Center in August 2015 to be part of our Behavioral Health team. She attended and graduated from Montana State University with a bachelors degree in sociology. After graduating college, Villette worked in the mental health field as a case manager and provided intensive in-home mental health services in both Bozeman and Helena. More recently, she has worked with children with disabilities and their families to provide early intervention and facilitate community resources.

  • James DeFoe, PharmD

    James DeFoe, PharmD, joined PureView Health Center as a Clinical Pharmacist in April 2019. James came to Helena from Wheat Ridge, Colorado, where he was the Clinical Pharmacist, Team Leader and Residency Program Director at Lutheran Medical Center. James received a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and Biology and a Master’s Degree in Biochemistry from Northern Michigan University. His Doctor of Pharmacy Degree was earned at Albany College of Pharmacy. He comes to PureView with thirteen years of experience as a Clinical Pharmacist. James is married with two young children, and he and his family love to be outdoors and explore wild places. He enjoys Nordic and backcountry skiing, trail running and hiking. James is excited to be a part of the PureView team and looks forward to helping our patients and community.

  • Dr. Kyle Denning, D.D.S.

    Kyle Denning D.D.S. joined PureView Health Center in January 2018 after serving in Western Oregon since 2013. He received his B.A. in Biology from Carroll College in Helena, and then attended Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, NE. Originally from Eastern Washington, Dr. Denning also has family in Butte.

    Dr. Denning enjoys treating an underserved population and providing quality care for those with limited access to dental treatment. In his spare time, he likes to be with his wife and two children exploring the great landscapes Western Montana has to offer.

  • Dawn Gormely, Nurse Practitioner

    Dawn Gormely joined PureView Health Center in May of 1997. Her undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Nursing, is from Carroll College, in Helena. She worked at St. Peter’s Hospital, primarily in Pediatrics, for a number of years prior to returning to academia to become a Nurse Practitioner. She completed a Master’s Degree in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner focus through Montana State University in Bozeman as a member of the program’s first graduating class. Dawn has found family practice to be an amazing environment to work in. Seeing several generations of families grow has been extremely rewarding. In her spare time, Dawn loves quilting, antiquing, reading, home projects, Montana outdoors and traveling with family and friends.

  • Erin Guzynski, Pharmacist

    Erin Guzynski joined PureView Health Center in September of 2019. Erin grew up along Montana’s High-Line in the Sweetgrass Hills. In 2002, she graduated from the University of Montana School of Pharmacy. Shortly after graduating Erin obtained the position of Pharmacy Manager at Walmart Pharmacy in Kalispell, Montana. In 2009, she became a pharmacist with Bergum Drug, in Helena. Erin enjoys working closely with patients in a patient-centered pharmacy. She spends her free time exercising and recreating with her family in Montana’s mountains.

  • Christina Keener, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

    Christina Keener began working at PureView Health Center in July 2015 as the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the new Behavioral Health department. She is from Wilkes Barre, PA. Chris obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Seton Hall University in New Jersey. She later attended Gonzaga University, where she earned her Masters of Science in Nursing and her Nurse Practitioner certification. She has been a Nurse Practitioner in the Helena area for more than 15 years. Chris loves getting to know her patients as the unique individuals that they are and helping them to achieve optimal potential.

  • Trish Leasure, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

    Trish Leasure, LCSW, joined PureView Health Center in June 2018. She is employed by Intermountain Community-Based Services but works within the Behavioral Health Team at PVHC.

    Trish graduated from the University of Arizona in 1971 with a B.S. in Education and Rehabilitation. She received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1981. Trish has spent her career specializing in child and family therapy in a variety of community settings. Most recently she has worked in foster care and adoption through Child and Family Services, DPHHS; Shodair Hospital as a primary therapist; and Intermountain School-Based Services in both elementary and middle school settings.

    Trish grew up in Ohio, but quickly fell in love with the West. She has lived in the Helena Community for over 30 years and is an advocate for getting kids outside or involved in the amazing activities that Helena has to offer. She is passionate about working collaboratively with children, parents and families. Trish also enjoys spending time with her adult daughters, exploring Montana and the northwest, playing tennis, hiking with her dog, and skiing.

  • Michelle Marten, PharmD, RPh

    Michelle Marten joined the PureView Health Center team in January 2018 as part of a partnership with Geneva Woods to provide pharmacy services for our patients. She became a full-time PureView Health Center employee in November 2018 after working for Geneva Woods for six years. Michelle began her education at the University of Great Falls majoring in Criminal Justice and Accounting, and soon after realized that her passion was in healthcare. She was accepted into the University of Montana Pharmacy School in 2008 and earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy in 2012. Michelle enjoys the outdoors and spends most of her free time in the mountains camping, 4-wheeling, hunting, and fishing. She also loves touring around on a Harley with her husband and watching her son compete in freestyle skiing across the country.

  • Lindsay McHugh, Case Manager

    Lindsay joined PureView Health Center in December 2019. She graduated with a B.S. in Environmental Sciences from the University of Montana Western and has spent time working as a wellsite geologist, environmental scientist, and office manager. Through many of her interactions, Lindsay discovered a passion for working with people. She previously worked as a college and career counselor and a therapeutic youth home worker and thoroughly enjoys being an advocate for individuals from all walks of life. She was drawn to PureView because of their dedication to comprehensive health care for all members of our community. Lindsay is also a part-time student furthering her education within the medical field. She was raised in Helena and has lived in several places across Montana. In her free time, she enjoys getting outdoors and exploring new places with her family and friends. She is excited to serve the community while being part of such a positive and supportive team.

  • Margaret Phillips, Family Nurse Practitioner

    Maggie Phillips joined PureView Health Center in August 2018. She graduated from Montana State University with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. Maggie is originally from a small town in northern Wisconsin and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. Since that time, she has accumulated more than six years of nursing experience in various areas of patient care. Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, she worked at St. Peter’s Hospital. She enjoys working with patients and families to promote healing and wellness and is passionate about providing quality healthcare services to the community.

    In her free time, Maggie enjoys spending time with family and friends and everything outdoors under the Montana sky, especially backpacking, hiking, and cross-country skiing.

  • Melissa Rambo, Licensed Addictions Counselor

    Melissa Rambo, LAC joined PureView Health Center in December 2017. She graduated from Montana State University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human services and an Associates Degree in Rehabilitation. She is currently working on a Master’s degree with Grand Canyon University. Between 2002-2012, she worked for a community correctional facility in Billings obtaining her License in Addictions Counseling in 2011.  Additionally, she has also worked with the PACT Team at the Center for Mental Health as an LAC working with those afflicted with severe mental illness and Substance Use Disorders. She is excited to be working with PureView Health to assist those struggling from the devastating disease of addiction. Melissa enjoys traveling, boating, camping, four-wheeling, and exploring Montana’s landscapes and mountains.

  • Dr. Justin Smith M.D.

    Justin Smith, M.D. is a fourth-generation Montanan with roots in the Bitterroot Valley and the Shelby Hi-Line.  After graduation from the University of Montana, he attended medical school at the University of Arizona and then completed his residency in Billings at the Montana Family Medicine Residency in 2004. Dr. Smith worked for seven years at the Parker Medical Clinic in Lincoln and has also taken international assignments in New Zealand and Canada. He and his family are excited to be back in Montana where they enjoy biking, hunting, and Nordic skiing.

  • Dr. William Snider, D.O.

    Dr. Snider is a graduate of the Montana Family Medicine Residency where he served as Chief Resident. He has lived in Helena since 2001, and is a previous Medical Director for the Cooperative Health Center. He returned to PureView after spending 2 years exploring Private Practice. In addition to Public Health, Dr. Snider enjoys competitive mountain biking and Nordic skiing. He is also a fly fisherman and lover of wild places and public lands.

    Dr. Snider is originally from Indiana. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Montana and a medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. Prior to attending medical school he worked in environmental advocacy and as a wilderness fly fishing guide in Alaska. He has a young daughter and enjoys teaching her about life and the outdoors.

  • Sharon Speck, Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

    Sharon Speck began working with PureView Health Center in July 2015. She joins our new Behavioral Health team as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has been a licensed therapist for nearly 20 years in Delaware and Montana. She joined PureView after working in Helena at the Center for Mental Health and St. Peter’s Hospital Behavioral Health Unit. Sharon graduated from the University of Montana with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and received her Master’s in Social Service from Bryn Mawr College School of Social Work and Social Research in Bryn Mawr, PA.

  • Dr. Madeline Turner, M.D.

    Dr. Turner joined the PureView team in September 2018. She is a Montana native and received her undergraduate degree from Montana State University. She attended medical school at the University of Washington as part of the WWAMI program followed by completion of residency at the Swedish Cherry Hill Family Medicine Program in Seattle where she served as Inpatient Chief Resident. After residency, Dr. Turner became faculty at Swedish Residency and worked at Seattle Indian Health Board. Madeline’s interests include Hepatitis C treatment, addiction medicine, and comprehensive women’s health. She is passionate about teaching and has taught medical and nurse practitioner students in the past and hopes to continue this in the future. She strongly believes in healthcare access for all and hopes to empower patients to understand and manage their own health. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time in the outdoors with her husband, baking, and lately, home improvement projects.

  • Lanna Zobel, Family Nurse Practitioner (Parker Medical Center)

    Lanna Zobel, FNP-C, joined the staff at Parker Medical Center in October 2019. Lanna received an Associate Nursing Degree followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Cardinal Stritch University in Wisconsin. She worked in a large academic medical facility in the ER and Trauma for over 20 years.  Lanna returned to school and obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a focus on Family Practice. She is enjoying getting to know her patients and working with them to achieve their goals. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, backpacking, fly fishing, and spending time with her family.

Our Leadership Team

  • Jill-Marie Steeley, CEO

    Jill is originally from Salt Lake City, UT, and moved to Montana in 2014. Jill joined PureView Health Center in May, 2015. Prior to joining the organization she spent nearly four years as the Director of the Health and Human Services Division of the Gallatin City-County Health Department, seven and a half years as the Director of the Madison County Health Department, and was a senior analyst for Goldman Sachs in Salt Lake City, UT, for four years. Jill has a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Montana and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Jill is excited to be part of a team of professionals who thoroughly enjoy working with the patients we serve and works tirelessly to improve the health of Lewis and Clark County residents.

  • Dr. Justin Hicks, Dental Director

    Justin Hicks, D.M.D., was born and raised in the Detroit area of Michigan. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Southern Utah University in 2004 and his dental degree from Case Western Reserve University in 2008. He began his career as a dentist in Plentywood, MT where his mentor, Dr. Tom Lidahl, and himself were the only two dentists serving all of Sheridan County. In late 2009, Dr. Hicks purchased a dental practice in Great Falls, MT where he has been providing general dentistry to families for the past ten years. He has served patients from age 1 to 92.

    Dr. Hicks and his family have lived in Helena for the past several years. They love the community and have been thrilled to put their roots down here. Their family enjoys hiking, camping, and downhill skiing. Dr. Hicks is looking forward to serving Lewis and Clark County at PureView and is very passionate about its mission, vision, and values.

  • Marina Kuntz, CFO & CIO

    Marina, originally from Russia, has been living in Helena since 2013. She got her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Moscow State University, and also completed upper accounting courses at Carroll College. Currently, she is working towards her Master’s in Computer Information Systems from Boston University, with a concentration in Database Management & Business Intelligence. Prior to joining PureView Health Center she worked at Heritage Propane, Rocky Mountain Development Council and Helena Industries. Marina is excited to join PureView’s team, and hopes that her skills in accounting and data analysis will contribute to PureView’s effort to provide the best integrated primary healthcare in the Helena community.

  • Dr. Heather McRee, Medical Director

    Heather McRee, D.O., joined PureView Health Center in 2004 after completing her residency at the Montana Family Medicine Residency in Billings, MT, where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. McRee grew up in Maine and, after completing high school, spent a year in a small village in Zimbabwe, working in an orphanage and hospital. It was in this formative year that she solidified her desire to pursue a career in healthcare. She graduated with honors from the University of Montana and returned to Maine for medical school at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. She loves being a family physician because it allows her to problem solve with her patients. She believes in quality healthcare for everyone and prefers prevention over pills. In her free time, she enjoys trail running, mountain biking, camping, skiing and being with her children and her husband.

  • Paula Wright, Chief Operations Officer

    Paula began working with PureView Health Center in January, 2017. She joins the Leadership Team as the Chief Operations Officer.  She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Montana State University, Bozeman. For the past 25 years, Paula has worked in the human service field with emphasis in preventative and behavioral services, early intervention, and developmental disabilities. Prior to PureView, she spent 14 years at Family Outreach, a non-profit agency providing evidence based intervention home visiting services to children and adults with disabilities. This includes working as a Family Support Specialist then moving into Management and Operational roles of 8 programs across 12 counties in the Southwestern Region of the state. Her background also encompasses organizational monitoring and reporting, staff development and training, strategic planning, grant and contract implementation, and community outreach. She is excited to join a team committed to providing quality and integrated services to our community.
